Places to visit nearby Temuco

Today, I decided to create a new post for people coming from abroad, about places to visit nearby Temuco. I decided it today, because I talked with Arden, a "gringo" coming from USA for teaching English in Temuco with Amber, his wife, and they asked me about places to visit on weekends since they were working during week days. Well I've selected some, here it goes:

National Parks
If you're in Temuco, or nearby, you must visit the beautiful National parks we have in this region, La Araucania.
Parque nacional Conguillío(110 km from Temuco, approx), having more than 600km2 is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. There you can see great forest of Araucarias, serveral of them, older than a thousand years. The're several trekking routes but the mos popular is the one to "Sierra Nevada", because from there you can get the best view of the lake Conguillío. Also you can go to other National Parks, like Huerquehue, Villarrica, Tolchuaca, but personally I think the best and my favourite one is El Conguillío, I recomend it 100%. Pucón
(100 km. from Temuco, approx) [View map]
Other place you have to go when you're visiting the Araucanía is Pucón, a little touristy city having both, Volcano for winter and lake for summer. Particular thing in Pucón is that every building is made of wood. There're a lot of activities to do there, like adventure sports, trekking, canopy, hydro-speed, hot springs, climbing to the volcano(Villarrica), and nightlife (A lot of, but in summer). A very nice bar and the most preferred for foreigners is called the "Mamas & Tapas" and is located in O'higgins street. But if you want to be more quite, you must go to the hot springs at night. My favorite one is called "Los Pozones" and it's one of the natural ones and it's recommendable go there at night. It's a good experience.
Nearby Pucon, half an hour by bus, there's the Lago Caburgua. Another lake having some white sand beaches. You can go for camping there.

Valdivia
(170 km. from Temuco, approx) [View map]
Valdivia is a city next to the coast in La region de Los Ríos, is crossed for a big river called Rio Calle-Calle. Here you can get fresh seafood in restaurants. For example you can go to the "Mercado municipal", there're lots of restaurants offering typical dishes. Other choice is to get a ship and have lunch there while you go in direction to Corral or other places. Also from Valdivia you can go to other places like Niebla, Los Molinos or Corral.

...Recommended, If you're looking for cheap accommodation in Temuco.
